Hydroxyzine Pamoate

Hydroxyzine Pamoate (generic for Vistaril) is used by veterinarians for the treatment of allergies in dogs. It is available as 25mg and 50mg capsules. The usual dose for dogs is 1mg/pound by mouth every 6 to 8 hours. It should not be used in pregnant or nursing animals.
